OUR ORIGIN

Vision to Success Foundation was established in 2025 as a not-for-profit society committed to making computer and technology education accessible to every child, regardless of background or means. The Foundation grew organically from a family’s long-held belief that education is the greatest investment a parent can make — a belief that was lived, tested, and ultimately transformed into a social mission through years of teaching, sacrifice and persistence.

Our beginnings: a family’s dream turned public mission

The Foundation’s roots go back decades. Born in 1995 in Bhagalpur, Bihar, Nishant Deo is the son of an academic and a grassroots educator. His father — a Professor of Political Science — and his mother, an M.A., B.Ed. educator who trained Anganwadi workers, laid the earliest foundations: a deep respect for knowledge, a spirit of service, and the conviction that learning should open doors for all.

In 2008, Nishant’s father purchased six computers with the dream of opening a small computer institute. The plan did not immediately succeed, but those machines became the first classroom for a curious child. That early experience — experimenting, breaking and learning on those computers — planted a passion that would shape a life.

Between 2011 and 2018, Nishant’s path swayed between study and teaching: strong academic performance, early teaching of peers, motivational work in schools, short-lived experiments in small-scale training, and the founding of The Renaissance Society — an early effort to bring learning to young people at affordable rates. In 2018, ten years after his father’s original attempt, he founded the institute Vision to Success, fulfilling the family dream and creating a local hub for technology learning.

The upheavals of 2020 (the COVID-19 pandemic), together with lived experience of students and families in distress, clarified a deeper truth: education could not be treated as merely a business. It had to be a mission. In 2025 — guided by mentors, strengthened by community experience, and rooted in a family legacy of service — Vision to Success evolved into Vision to Success Foundation, a formal entity built to scale impact, protect the vulnerable through learning, and bridge the digital divide.

Founding story in brief (timeline)

1995 — Birth of the founder in Bhagalpur; family values of education and service take root.

2000–2012 — Schooling at Saint Thomas School, Godda; early academic promise and the first steps into teaching.

2008 — Father buys six computers with the hope of an institute — the spark of a generational dream.

2011 — Teaching begins in earnest; early community engagement and top board exam scores.

2015 — The idea of an NGO is voiced for the first time; The Renaissance Society founded as an early experiment in education delivery.

2018 — Vision to Success institute is founded — fulfilling a decade-old dream — followed by life-testing events that deepen the founder’s resolve.

2020 — The pandemic forces a rapid shift to online learning; fee waivers and compassionate teaching reveal the mission.

2025 — Vision to Success Foundation is formally established to scale the mission of inclusive tech education.

Why we exist

The Foundation is not a charity in the traditional sense; it is an institutional response to a social problem: unequal access to digital education and technology skills. We exist because:

✅ A family dream (of an institute and an NGO) repeatedly returned across time — a pattern that became a clear call to action.

✅ Families in our communities lack affordable, quality computer education.

✅ Students with potential are often denied access due to financial constraints.

✅ The world increasingly rewards digital fluency; without intervention, the disadvantaged will fall further behind.

Our mission translates personal history into public purpose: to ensure education and technology skills are accessible, affordable and empowering.

What we do — our flagship approaches

Vision to Success Foundation works across three interlinked pillars:

1) Learning & Training

     - Free and subsidized computer and digital literacy classes for children and youth.

     - After-school and Sunday classes for students from financially challenged homes.

     - Teacher training programs to strengthen computer teaching in partner schools.

2) Community Outreach & Inclusion

     - Awareness drives in local schools and communities to encourage enrollment and ongoing participation.

     - Scholarships and fee waivers for meritorious students facing financial hardship.

     - Special programs for girls and first-generation learners to close opportunity gaps.

3) Capacity Building & Partnerships

     - Curriculum co-development with local schools to ensure relevance and alignment with ICSE / state requirements.

     - Mentor network (experienced teachers like Nirmal Sir) to support learning pathways and vocational readiness.

     - Pilot collaborations with local institutions, NGOs, and government bodies for scalable initiatives.

Our philosophy & guiding principles

Education as a right, not a commodity. Learning should be available to every child, irrespective of socio-economic status.
1) Practical, skill-based learning. We emphasize hands-on computer education that prepares learners for real-world challenges.
2) Community-led and context-aware. Interventions are shaped by local needs, shaped in consultation with families and schools.
3) Sustained mentorship over one-off charity. We invest in long-term learning relationships that build confidence and capability.
4) Accountability and transparency. We operate with clear governance, regular reporting, and community oversight.

Governance & founding team

Vision to Success Foundation was established by a group of committed educators, mentors and community members led by Nishant Deo (Founder & Director). The founding team includes seven core members — teachers, administrators, and local education activists — who came together to draft the Memorandum of Association and the bylaws that would form the legal structure of the Foundation.

Core principles of governance:

✅ The Foundation is governed by an Executive Board (composed of independent trustees and founding members) responsible for overall strategy and fiduciary oversight.

✅ A Management Committee (day-to-day operations) is led by the Founder & Director and supported by program leads for Education, Community Outreach, Partnerships, and Finance.

✅ Periodic community reviews and transparent financial statements ensure accountability to donors, partners and beneficiaries.

Our team & partners

Our strength lies in people: committed teachers, volunteers, mentors (such as Nirmal Sir), and local school principals who collaborate to deliver learning that matters. We partner with:

✅ Local schools (for after-school classes and teacher training)

✅ Community leaders and volunteers (for outreach and identification of deserving students)

✅ Local government and education offices (for alignment with public programs and scale)

✅ Donors and supporters who believe in the mission of equitable education

Our achievements and early impact

(As a newly formed foundation, we recommend this section be updated periodically. Possible entries to include once reported:)

✅ Number of students reached through free/subsidized classes.

✅ Number of teachers trained in basic computer pedagogy.

✅ Case studies of students who progressed from training to further education or employment.

✅ Community feedback and beneficiary testimonials.

How we work — operational model

Local campus model: small, community-based learning centers (or Sunday classes in partner schools) that provide practical computer instruction.
Blended learning: combining in-person hands-on sessions with low-bandwidth online support where possible.
Mentor pairing: learners paired with trained mentor teachers for regular progress tracking.
Assessment for progress: simple, competency-based assessments to track digital skills (typing, basic office applications, coding fundamentals).
Sustainability focus: sliding fee models, sponsorships, and grant funding to keep programs running without excluding needy students.

Looking ahead — our strategy (next 3–5 years)

Scale access: grow from a single community hub to multiple learning centers across the district and neighboring areas.
Strengthen quality: invest in teacher training, curriculum development, and evaluation systems.
Build partnerships: formalize collaborations with local government, schools and CSR partners to expand reach.
Create pathways: link learners to vocational programs, internships, and employment opportunities in the digital economy.
Document impact: collect data, publish case studies, and refine programs driven by evidence.

Closing Note

Vision to Success Foundation is rooted in a lived story — a family’s sacrifices, a father’s dream, a mother’s quiet strength, and a son’s relentless resolve. It is a story of small failures that become seeds, of teachers who become mentors, and of a community that will not accept that money should determine a child’s future.

Our Foundation translates that story into action: testing, learning, and building a movement that empowers the next generation with the tools of tomorrow.
